MLB Championship Series facts, figures, schedules as final four teams prepare to battle

After the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Washington Nationals, 4-3, in the nation’s capital on Thursday night, the MLB Championship Series schedule was finally set, featuring a quartet of teams that haven’t won a World Series in at least two decades.

The final teams left in the postseason race are the Toronto Blue Jays, Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Chicago Cubs.

The Indians were the last team to appear in a World Series (1997) and the Blue Jays were the last team to win one (1993).

The Divisional Series was full of thrills in which we saw both three-game sweeps, epic late-inning rallies, and a do-or-die Game 5.

The Championship Series round is sure to be just as entertaining.

Game 1 of the ALCS, featuring the Indians and Blue Jays, is on Friday while Game 1 of the NLCS, spotlighting the Dodgers and the Cubs, comes Saturday.

Here are some facts you need to know about each of the teams left competing for the Commissioner’s Trophy:
